Heater fans use a standard metal-coil element that is placed in the fan to help distribute heat to a room. These convection fans provide a minimal source of heat for a small area, but not an entire room.
These heaters tend to be more energy efficient and safer than many heaters, so even though they heat up quickly, their plastic casings stay cool. A great use for this type of fan would be in a small office or tabletop
Convector heaters operate by air convection currents circulating through the body of the appliance which heats the element. Great for fast heating of rooms.
Panel heaters are often used to supplement storage heaters in an all electric home. In well insulated properties and smaller rooms, panel heaters alone may provide sufficient heat and be as economical as storage heaters.
Oil filled radiators are a popular solution because once the oil has been warmed up the electricity consumption stops and the oil retains the heat for a long time. There is no fan and therefore they are virtually silent and create no dust.
Halogen heaters provide a warm glow which gives a warming sensation just by being on. The radiant heat warms up the body faster than other forms of heat, this makes them especially useful in a conservatories. Halogen heaters cut off if they are knocked over.
