Passive Infra-Red detectors work by monitoring the IR radiation given off by moving objects. They are suitable for most internal installations.

Quad Detectors
Quad detectors work in the same way as standard PIRs but have an extra detection element. Both elements have to be triggered for an activation.

Dual Techs
Dual technology detectors use IR and microwave radiation to register an activation. They are most suitable in humid atmospheres

Movement Detectors

There are 3 main types of movement detectors; Passive Infra-Red detectors are suitable for most internal applications, quad detectors also work on IR but are more difficult to trigger while dual techs use IR as well as microwave radiation to trigger.
